Submission + - Help the EFF and MuckRock track domestic drone use through FOIA (muckrock.com)

v3rgEz writes: "The Electronic Frontier Foundation and MuckRock have partnered on a national "census" of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) plans across the United States by allowing anyone to file a request to any agency for their drone plans, purchases, and other information.

The project has already dug up a payment of Raytheon to a university for drone development (http://j.mp/P67mPZ) and had one city as going on the record with no drone plans (http://j.mp/LOG0pY), but we think this project could turn up a lot of interesting information on a subject that's remained elusive — as long as people take a few minutes to input their local agency's information."

If it happens once, it's a bug. If it happens twice, it's a feature. If it happens more than twice, it's a design philosophy.
