ynotds's Journal: Melbourne Slashdot 10th Anniversary Party

I have a long history of translating indicated attendance into actual numbers for functions, but basing it on acceptances from an untested source was always going to be risky.

So I don't know whether I should just celebrate that the eight who made it seemed like a pretty good sample or bemoan the 23 who didn't show out of the 31 who registered.

I was the youngest of the bunch, felt kinda out of my league. Had a great time though.

I was planning to attend, but due to bad weather leaving Adelaide, I didn't arrive in Melbourne until about 9pm, with bonus ruptured eardrum. Pity, would have been interesting to meet a few folks. Oh well, maybe at the 25th eh? :)
