judgecorp writes "Google's "Solve for X" event, designed to offer blue-sky solutions to global problems always ran a risk that some presentations might be more sci-fi than others, but a talk proposing spray-on antennas to boost signal reception has inspired ridicule amongst the radio fraternity for ignoring the fundamental laws of physics. If this turns out to be snake-oil, it could taint the event which included more serious talks."
